Helpful Tips about Shopping our Marketplace

Our truffles are handmade and take time to create, so occasionally there may be a delay in the shipping date to accommodate the number of orders placed.  For your convenience, we will notify you of any possible delays. We appreciate your understanding and hope you value our commitment to freshness and quality!

Ordering
When placing your order, please note that the shipping method you select only affects the time in transit, not the ship date. We want to guarantee our chocolates arrive in the same condition as when they were shipped from our kitchen so we use packaging that will insulate the chocolates and prevent them from melting. However, due to the perishable nature of our chocolates, we suggest choosing the shipping option that will best accommodate the speediest delivery to a destination where a recipient is available to receive it.

Chocolates are selected from our freshest available selections, and because they are created by hand, may differ slightly in appearance than what is pictured on our website.

Gifts
When ordering as a gift for others, please take into consideration that all of our artisan chocolates are carefully formulated to prolong shelf life, but are preservative free. Though some truffles will last up to twelve weeks under ideal conditions, see How to Store Chocolate  we recommend no more than an eight week shelf life for optimum flavor and texture.

Special Orders
Marco Paolo Chocolates makes the perfect unique business gift or chocolate favors for your special event.  For information on creating sweet sense-venture memories of your special day, please email us with inquiries for orders of $300 or more, and every effort will be made to accommodate your needs.

Pre-order for Special Occasions
You can always place an order now and have us ship it at a future date. Simply tell us in the Order Notes box at Checkout which week you’d like us to ship.

Please note our Shipping Policy and Guidelines below for shipping schedules. Keep in mind that orders are not shipped on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. We do not ship chocolates that will be in transit over the weekend as this will add additional days to the delivery time and may result in melted or damaged chocolates.

Holidays
Like regular mail around the Holiday Season, extra time should be allowed for shipping.  While many packages arrive in 2-3 days during this time, some take several days longer. So, if you need delivery by specific date, please choose Priority 2 day or Express Overnight shipping.

No delivery is available on these National holidays, or the day immediately following.

Shipping Policy and Guidelines

Shipping and handling charges apply to each address where an order is shipped, based on the current USPS and FedEx rates. Shipping costs will be automatically calculated when making your purchase. In the warmer months, from May 1 to October 15, a surcharge for extra insulated packaging will apply.

We do not ship chocolates that will be in transit over the weekend as this will add additional days to the delivery time and may result in melted or damaged chocolates.

The shipment schedule is based on the date and time your order is received. Transit times vary depending on destination. Orders are processed and shipped in the order they are received and will normally ship within 24 to 48 hours, unless a future date is requested. Overnight delivery is available Monday-Thursday. Priority Mail and 2nd Day delivery is available only Monday-Wednesday. Orders received after 2 pm PST Wednesday will not ship until the following Monday unless overnight or weekend delivery is specified. Orders are not shipped on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.

Shipped orders will not require a signature to complete delivery, and will be left at the delivery address if no one is available to receive the package. On warmer days, this may result in the chocolates melting. Marco Paolo Chocolates is not responsible for packages stolen from or damaged after they are delivered to a destination where no person is available to receive it. We strongly recommend shipping to a business address whenever possible, or an address where the recipient will be available to receive them.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THE SHIPPING ADDRESS IS CORRECT BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR ORDER. We want to make sure that we are able to accurately process your order. The details of your name, billing address, shipping address, and method of payment are critical. Marco Paolo Chocolates cannot be responsible for errors in information that is provided to us. Costs resulting from such errors will be charged to you.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CANNOT SHIP TO P.O. BOXES. A valid street address is required for your order.

To ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, an additional $10 charge will apply.

At this time, we do not ship to international destinations.

We are not responsible for shipping delays while your product is in transit due to weather, strike, mechanical failure, or circumstances beyond our control, and are not able to offer refunds for those reasons.

Local Delivery
For Los Angeles, we can messenger your order for Same Day Delivery, cost varies depending upon distance from our facilities, time of order, and availability of service. Please email us with inquiries. Restrictions may apply.

Returns
We at Marco Paolo Chocolates stand behind the quality of our chocolates.  Every item we sell is carefully inspected before it is shipped and every effort is made to ensure that your purchase will arrive in perfect condition. If merchandise is defective or damaged upon receipt, please contact us immediately after your package arrives, so we may determine the proper course of action, which may include replacing or refunding orders, at our sole discretion.

We do not accept exchanges or returns. Shipping charges will not be refunded.

We will not refund purchases if the order is damaged after the first delivery attempt or if it is returned to us by the shipper.
